Fromm Family Sketch
An American Adventure
Berks County, Pennsylvania - Frederick Fromm and wife Maria Barbara Himmelman arrived in Philadelphia on the ship Samuel in 1737 and established their home in Bern Township, Berks County. Frederick died in 1774 in Berks County, with Barbara's death recorded there in 1798 by the Reverend J. W. Boos. Son Frederick Fromm and his wife Christina raised a family of at least nine children in that locality.

Centre County, Pennsylvania - About 1810, Frederick Fromm and his wife Christina joined son Jonas Fromm in removing to Centre County, where Frederick died in 1814 and Christina survived until 1831. Both are buried in the Emmanuel Union Church cemetery in Tusseyville, Centre County. The gravestone of Frederick Fromm carries a Revolutionary War marker.

Stark County, Ohio - Frederick's daughter Sarah Fromm married Daniel Stamm about 1810 to 1813. This Stamm family established a home in Stark County, Ohio, raising nine children, many of whom remained in the area.

Auglaize County, Ohio - In 1851 Daniel and Sarah Stamm's daughter Lydia Stamm married Abraham Taylor, born to the Taylor family in neighboring Tuscarawas County. This couple settled in Auglaize County, and eventually Allen County; both are buried in the Rockport Methodist Church cemetery in Monroe Township, Allen County.
