Wehner Family Sketch
An American Adventure
Auglaize County, Ohio - Franz Wehner and his children Joseph Wehner, Margaret Wehner, and Barbara Wehner were part of the initial wave of immigration from Bavaria to Auglaize County, Ohio in the early 1830s. This family played a prominent role in the farming and merchant community of Auglaize County for years thereafter.
Margaret Klipfel was the daughter of Joseph Klipfel and Margaret Schlembach from the village of Hausen near Schonungen, Bavaria. In 1834, Margaret, her parents and three siblings emigrated to establish a new home in Auglaize County, Ohio, sailing on the ship Averick Heineken from Bremen to the port of Baltimore.

Margaret Klipfel's sister Catherine Klipfel married John Brunn in 1835 Hausen near Schonungen before emigrating. Brother Augustin Klipfel married Franziska Miller while brother Francis Klipfel married Elizabeth Miller, both in Auglaize (then Allen) County. These families maintained a close family relationship throughout their lives.
