1870 U.S. Census:2471 Katharina enumerated in the household of her husband Jacob Decker in the 6th Ward, Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio as a female, age 26, white, keeping house, born in Ohio, father and mother foreign born. Also residing in the household was Elizabeth Decker, a 21 year old female, who may have been sister or possibly even a daughter of Jacob Decker, and Gustaf E. Decker, a 2 year old male, born in Ohio, with a foreign born father.

Possible Death Prior to 1880:2472 Jacob Decker was enumerated in the 1880 census at age 52, with a wife Magdalina, age 51; a disabled daughter Elizabeth, age 28; a son Agustus, age 12; and a servant. Based on their relative ages, it is not likely that Magdalina and Katharina are the same person. It is assumed, but not yet proven, that Katharina Klipfel Decker died between 1870 and 1880.
