Mosser - Samuel Mosser and Michael Mosser emigrated from Bischweiler, Alsace, in 1749 and settled in York County, Pennsylvania. Michael Mosser and his wife Maria Eva Elsasser had eleven children, among them was son Abraham Mosser, who served in the York County Militia during the Revolutionary War. After the war, Abraham moved his family to Washington County, Pennsylvania and then on to Tuscarawas County, Ohio where he and Thomas Boude owned 4,000 acres obtained through Bounty Land Warrants. Some members of this family used the surname Moser, rather than Mosser.
