Siblings residing in the household were Frances, a male age 15; Martha, age 13; Alonzo, age 10; William, age 9; and Henry, age 6. Others enumerated were Frederick Wert, age 21 and a carpenter's apprentice born in Bavaria, and his mother Caroline, age 64.

1870 U.S. Census:2660 Amelia enumerated in the household of her husband William J. Copley in Porter Township, Cass County, Michigan as a female, age 17, keeping house, born in Indiana, cannot write. Daughter Cora, age 9 months, was also enumerated in the household. A Peter Copley, age 70, enumerated as the sole occupant of the immediately follwing dwelling is presumed to be the father of William Copley. Amelia's father James Cannady2642 was enumerated several dwellings further down the same page; sister Martha (Cannady) Bunn was also enumerated with her husband Andrew J. Bunn in James Cannady's household.

1880 U.S. Census:2661 Amelia enumerated in the household of her husband William J. Copley in Newburg Township, Cass County, Michigan as a female, age 27, wife, married, keeping house, born in Indiana, father born in Virginia, mother born in Virginia.
