Notes for Joseph MOSSER

Biographical Sketch:119, p. 566. Manfield's The History of Tuscarawas County, Ohio indicates Joseph was "still living near Quincy, Ill." about 1884.

Possible Biographical Sketch (1882):1211, p. 306. Could this be the Joseph Musser described thusly in Perrin's History of Stark County, Ohio? "From the first settlement of the county and for a couple score of years thereafter, these articles [i.e. spinning wheels and accompanying reels] were in great demand; at one time there were no less than three establishments in Canton engaged in their manufacture, those, namely, of Joseph Handlin, Joseph Musser, and Jacob. Handlin left first, Musser ran away with another man's wife, but Mr. Butcher continued in the business as long as there was anything to do, and amassed a very respectable fortune."
