Family Remembrance:849 "I found out where the reference to Michael Klipfel as being the older brother to Augustus and Kate (and Barbara and Elizabeth) came from. Mark Steinke (who I notice was one of your resources as well) gave me the information. He got the info from the St. Augustine Church in Minster. His explanation was this: SS Peter and Paul was organized in 1835 or 36. They did not have a resident preacher until 1843. They got missionary priests from Minster before that to give sermons, baptisms, marriages and funerals. Sometimes the recording of a certain thing was mistakenly put into the Augustine record books instead of those in Pusheta. He said the one book from Augustine that remains had this note: On 31 Jan. 1840 was baptized Michael, son of August Klibfel (sic) and Franciska Muller, born 26 Dec. 1839. Sponsor was Michael Muller."
