1936 Obituary:350 Aged Resident of St. Johns Taken by Death Today. Mrs. Rogers, Long an Invalid, Died in Home of Son — Funeral Sunday. St. Johns this morning suffered the loss of one of its oldest and best known residents in the death of Mrs. Hannah Rogers who passed away at 4:15 a.m. at the home of her son, Ernest J. Rogers. She was in her eightieth year. For the last three years she had been an invalid from paralysis. Her condition had been critical for a week.

Mrs. Rogers was a life time resident of St. Johns, having been born in that village on December 1, 1856, a daughter of Christian and Mary Foreman Bitler. she was married to John Rogers who died January 20, 1919. They were the parents of nine children, three of whom are deceased. Surviving are: George, Guy, and Ernest and Mrs. Frank (Rae) Martin of St. Johns; Mrs. E. L. (Grace) Blank, Saginaw, Michigan; and Mrs. M. J. (Nelle) Van Horn, Peoria, Illinois. Three grandchildren and one brother, C. C. Bitler of this city, also mourn her death. Mrs. Rogers was highly regarded by a wide circle of friends in the community where she had spent all her life.

Mrs. Rogers was a member of the Methodist Church in St. Johns where funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon with the Rev. Albert Bitters officiating. Burial will be made at Greenlawn Cemetery. The remains have been taken to the Siferd & Brookhart funeral home on West Auglaize street, and will be removed to the home of her son, Ernest J. Rogers, Friday.
