1860 U.S. Census:440 John enumerated in the household of his father William Frame in Porter Township, Porter County, Indiana as a male, age 15, born in Indiana, attended school within the year.
1865 Military Service:80, p. 42. "John I. Frame, Regiment 151, Company B, mustered in Feb 1865 and mustered out Sept. 1865."
1865 Death:1515 Recorded in William Frame Family Bible as "John Quincy Frame, September 24, 1865."
1883 General Affidavit:2558 On 16 January 1833 by Josiah Plummer of Porter County, Indiana declared under oath: "That I am personally acquainted with William Fraim, father of John Q. Frame, late a Private of the 157 Reg. Ind. Vol. Co. B., applicant for pension as dependent father of John Q. Fraim and I further state that said William Fraim has not transferred nor sold any real estate since the death of said John Q. Fraim and said John Q. Frame lived with his father when he enlisted and for years before he went to the army he worked on his father's farm and gave his father the benefit of his labor and went to work for and (ex)changed work with his neighbors and always gave his father the proceedings of his work and contributed the best he could, always to assist and support his father and his mother and always worked as much and as well as any son could to help support his father."
1886 Father's Pension Application:2558 "State of Indiana. Lake County. On this 8th day of February 1886 personally appears William Frame who being sworn according to law says he is the father of
John Q. Frame who enlisted in the month of January 1865 in Co. "B" 151 Ind. Vols. and was discharged from the service about the 22nd day of June 1865. That his said son was discharged on account of disability, he returned home immediately on his discharge suffering from general debility, chronic diarrhea and lung disease contracted in the army and said disabilities resulted in his said
son's death in Porter County, Indiana on the 24th day of September 1865 after his discharge. That this affiant was dependent on said son's labor when he enlisted. That this affiant married to Jane McCarian in Porter County, Ind. on the 12th day of September 1839, that this affiant's wife died in Porter County, Ind. in January 1877. That the said John Q. Frame was unmarried and that this affiant hereby makes application for a dependent father's pension hereby appointing Chas. H. Young of Crown Point, Ind., his attorney to prosecute his claim that he has never before made application for pension. That his Post Office address is Palmer, Lake County, Indiana. (Signed: Wm. Frame). Also personally appears Zalmon E. Peck and Ruthven O. Peck who on oath say they are personally acquainted with the above named applicant, that they saw him sign his name to the foregoing application, and they have every reason to believe he is the identical person he represents himself to be and they have no interest herein."
