Family Remembrance:1302, p. 14. "Henry Taylor, a native of Tuscarawas County, Ohio, some time in the 30’s removed to Washington County, Pennsylvania, where he lived until 1855. He then came to Illinois, and made his home in this county until his decease in 1879, at the advanced age of seventy-two years. He was a chair-maker by trade. All who knew him respected him not only as an old settler, but as a good citizen and a man of many excellent traits of character. He was a staunch Democrat in politics."

1820 U.S. Census:1482 Henry enumerated in the household of his father John Taylor Sr. in Lawrence Township, Tuscarawas County, Ohio as one of two males age 10 to 15. Henry was about age 12, his brother John about age 15.
