Family Remembrance:1302, p. 14. "Henry Taylor, a native of Tuscarawas County, Ohio, some time in the 30’s removed to Washington County, Pennsylvania, where he lived until 1855. He then came to Illinois, and made his home in this county until his decease in 1879, at the advanced age of seventy-two years. He was a chair-maker by trade. All who knew him respected him not only as an old settler, but as a good citizen and a man of many excellent traits of character. He was a staunch Democrat in politics."
