Notes for Frederick STAMM Sr.
Biographical Sketch (1997):855, p. 13. "Frederick Sr. born on September 18, 1759, Frederick (or Frederich as it sometimes appears) was the third of three sons. In 1779, Frederick signed a petition against the formation of a state (Pennsylvania) convention to change the constitution — along with father Werner. . . . On May 13, 1783 at age 23, Frederick married Maria Margaretha Lerch at Christ Lutheran Church in Tulpehocken, Berks County. She was born the daughter of Johann Wilhelm and Mary Margarite Lerch on March 8, 1762 and died October 5, 1844. He died 9 December 1827 and is buried with his wife at Bern Reformed Church, Bern Township. They had six — and possibly seven — children; a seventh child shows up in church records, an unnamed male who was born 20 March 1784 and baptised 12 April 1784. He may have died as an infant. Other children include: Catharine, Johannes, Frederick Jr., Mary Marguerite, Jacob, and Mary Magdalena."
