1762 Theft:1417, p. 383. As his authority, Prindle cites The New York Genealogical and Biographical Record, 65:306. "He was doubtless the Joseph Morey Jr. who, with ‘Samuell’ Morey, both of Voluntown, on 9 Mar. 1762 confessed to stealing. They were fined £5 by Jeremiah Kinne, J.P."

1763 Estate Inventory:1417, p. 383. "The inventory of the estate of Joseph Morey Jr. of Voluntown was taken 17 Feb. 1763 (Plainfield Probate District Records, no. 1502). The widow Hannah and a claimant, Philemon Morey, are mentioned in the sparsely documented administration record (Voluntown Vital Records, 5:70). Joshua Gates was appointed administrator for Joseph’s insolvent estate."
