Biographical Sketch (1985):361, v. 1, p. 166. "Samuel Stratton was born March 5, 1660. As eldest son he inherited the homestead at Concord. On the town records he is spoken of as ‘a weaver.’ November 28, 1688, he married Elizabeth Fletcher, daughter of Franics and Elizabeth Wheeler Fletcher. She was born in Concord August 12, 1663. His death is thus recorded on the original records at Concord: ‘Samuel Stratton, the husband of Elizabeth his wife dyed November ye 30 day 1717 (in his 58th yr. g. s.).’ His widow lived many years later, dying April 18, 1762, ‘in the hundredth year of her age’."
