Biographical Sketch (1917):31, p. 129. "Edward T. Taylor, was born in Uniopolis, Ohio, November 12, 1887. A son of Joseph Henry Taylor and Eliza Ellen Taylor, he was educated in the public schools of Uniopolis and The Lima Business College. His father and mother were both born in Tuscarawas county, the former, April 1, 1843 and the latter, June 5, 1854. By profession Mr. Taylor is a clothing salesman being in the employ of The Fisher Benner Company. Before locating in Wapakoneta he served as Clerk, Councilman and Mayor of the Village of Uniopolis and was appointed Deputy Oil Inspector under Governor Harris and re-appointed to the position under Governor Willis. On September 15, 1915, he married Kitty L. Crawford of Wapakoneta. Their residence is located at 106 West Mechanic Street Mr. Taylor is one of the active young business men of the city and is a member of the B.P.O.E."

1940 Obituary:723 Edward T. Taylor Died Early Today in Home; Long Ill. Well known Local Man Passes in Home Funeral Planned Wednesday. Edward T. Taylor, 61, lifelong resident of Auglaize County, died at his home, 604 West Auglaize Street, at 6:15 this morning after a lingering illness of 15 years, following goiter surgery. He had become seriously ill last November and was bedfast for the last five weeks. Born November 12, 1878, he was the son of Henry and Ellen Taylor of Uniopolis. He always resided in this vicinity and on September 15, 1915, he married Kitty Crawford who survives Three sisters, Mrs. Frank Weber of Shanghai, China, and Mrs. Lillian Musser and Mrs. Howard Benner of Hollywood, California, also survive. Mr. Taylor for many years was employed as a salesman for the Benner Clothing store and for a time had served as oil inspector for the state. He was a member of the Masonic and Elks lodges. In 1921, he was the exalted ruler of the Elks. Popular in the community, he took part in the numerous social activities of the city until overtaken by infirmity. He was a member of the First English Lutheran Church. Funeral services have been tentatively set for 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Siferd & Brookhart funeral home with the Rev. George G. Weissling officiating. Burial will be made in the Greenlawn cemetery. The body will remain at the Siferd & Brookhart funeral home until the funeral services.
