Family Remembrance:83 "Elizabeth remained single, but she had an illegitimate son, Nelson Brandon, and he became quite a financier and owner of very large amounts of land in Schuylkill County, probably all of the Bitler properties and many acres more. When Hannah got married Elizabeth somehow secured possession of Hannah's share in her property. Elizabeth then deeded all her property to Nelson Brandon for the sum of $1.00 and the love of her son, and she was permitted to live there until she died, 2-24-1863. Her home in Mahanoy Manor was torn down shortly thereafter."
