Family Remembrance:630 "William was married twice. He married first in Franklin County to Elizabeth Willard, 21 May 1840. Her tombstone reads ‘Elizabeth, Wife of Wm. Baughman, Died Sept. 12, 1851 Aged 40 years.’ To the immediate left of her stone is located a very short stone which reads ‘Henry R. (B?) Son of W&E Baughman Died June 18, 1853.’ These graves are in Riverside Cemetery, Franklin County, Ohio. William married second Mary Ann Saruse (LaRue?) in Auglaize County, Ohio, 31 July 1863. They later lived in Hardin County, Ohio, Roundhead Twp. on a farm of 100 acres ‘just down the road’ from his brother, David. They raised a family in Roundhead Township. William died 18 Sept. 1874 and is buried in St. Johns Cemetery two rows behind his parents. His second wife, Mary, d. 21 February 1879, in Hardin County also, and is buried beside him."
Family Remembrance:820 "William - born circa 1812 in Franklin County, Ohio, and died in Auglaize County, Ohio, 18 Sep 1874 (age 62 years). He is buried in the St. Johns Cemetery beside his wife, Mary Ann ___ who died 21 Feb 1879 (age 50 years 6 months). A son, Henry R. (or B.) died 18 Jun 1853 (age 10 months, 13 days). (I have never checked for him in the 1850 census nor have I checked marriage records in either Allen or Sandusky county.)
William is mentioned as one of the four older children of Henry in a Sandusky County deed.
William may have married first in either Franklin or Sandusky County to one Elizabeth Willard. Elizabeth died 12 Sep 1841 (age 41 years) and is buried in the St. Johns Cemetery. (I don’t know where I got this - cannot find my reference. It does not seem quite right as she would have been 12 years William’s senior. This inscription does not appear in the book by the Auglaize County Genealogical Society, but then my readings of some of the stones do not agree with theirs. So don’t get excited about it.)"
