Biographical Sketch (1917):31, p. 157. "Joseph Richard McGoff, general manager of the Abner Manufacturing Company of Wapakoneta, is a self-made man in every sense of the word. Born in Moulton Township, August 12, 1883, he is a son of Frank and Mary Anna (Kelly) McGoff. His father was born in Vandalia, Ohio, and his mother in Union City, Indiana. He was educated in the parochial schools at Lima, Ohio, and St. Marys College, Dayton, Ohio. In September 1902, he accepted employment as a stenographer for the Acetylene Generator and Manufacturing Company in Wapakoneta, and in 1909, became secretary of the Krein Manufacturing Company, and in January, 1916, was elected to the position which he now holds. His marriage to Miss Lorena Jane Taylor was solemnized on November 18, 1908. He is a member of the B.P.O.E. and is affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church."

2626 Joseph McGoff died prior to 3 April 1930 when his wife Lorena Taylor McGoff was enumerated as a widow in the household of her sister Lillian.
