Biographical Sketch (1917):31, p. 129. "Howard B. Benner, junior partner of the Fisher-Benner Clothing Company, and one of the most popular of Wapakoneta’s young business men was born in that city, December 15, 1891, and is a son of Charles B. and Catherine (Fisher) Benner. Both of his parents were born in the Buckeye State, the father at Miamisburg, September 6, 1855, and the mother at Wapakoneta, May 21, 1862.

His education was received in the public schools of Wapakoneta, and at Purdue University where he graduated with the degree of B.S. in E.E. After graduation, he entered the employ of the Westinghouse Electrical and Manufacturing Company, as a Sales Manager, with Kentucky and lower Indiana as his territory, but in a short time, returned to Wapakoneta, and purchased a one-half interest in the Fisher-Benner Clothing Company (the same institution which his father had helped to organize thirty years before), and is now actively engaged as the manager of that business.

He is a member of the B.P.O.E., American Institute of Electrical Engineers, and of the Phi Epsilon College Fraternity. On December 2, 1913, he was married to Nettie L. Taylor. They reside at 307 West Auglaize Street, Wapakoneta."
